About us

We are located in East Baltimore near the historic Johns Hopkins Hospital.

We are the body of Christ (I Corinthians 12:12-26)

We are a diversity of gifts serving Christ through a diversity of ministries (Romans 12:1-13)

We are not perfect, but we are in pursuit of our higher calling in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:12-14)

We fellowship, worship, and study God's Word on a regular basis.

We pray for one another (Colossians 1:9; James 5:16)

We are a witness for Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:16)

We are United!

Church History

In August 1922 the United Baptist Church was organized by the late Reverend Thomas S. Hendershott. The first service was held in his home located at 1722 Ashland Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland with eight members sharing in worship . Later that year, September of 1922, United Baptist Church was incorporated.

Between 1922 and 1952 United Baptist Church relocated its worship (6) six times before reaching its current location.

This groundbreaking ceremony for the seventh and current location was held in the Spring of 2001. The new location is a multi-million dollar worship edifice, educational facility and administrative offices.

In the Fall of 2003 the United Baptist Church family under the leadership of Pastor Carl Solomon marched into its current worship location at 1615 E. Eager Street.
